Five gorgeous and distinctly different vintage poison bottles. Circa late 19th Century, including the ULTRA-RARE 1894 Skull Head poison bottle. A century ago, not everyone could read, and poisons were accidentally consumed because they were mistaken for medicines or tonics. Because of this, manufacturers needed a way to show the illiterate members of the public that the contents of their bottles were deadly if consumed. Every aspect of a poison bottle’s design was created for safety. This is why these bottles have the "textured" patterns on them.
